Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran’s deputy foreign minister for legal and international affairs, has said the findings of a UN mission confirm that “what happened in Minab and Lamerd was a clear war crime, not an operational error.” Gharibabadi was referring to February’s deadly missile strikes on a primary school in Minab and a sports complex in Lamerd. A UN-backed fact-finding mission said on Thursday that there were “reasonable grounds” to believe the US was behind the attacks and that they constituted war crimes.
