The Secretary-General of the Arab League Nabil Fahmy stated that the conflict in the Gulf region cannot be solved by military intervention and warned that “the crisis is poised to continue”. Fahmy said he believed Arab countries needed to “establish clear foundations” in their relationships with Iran going forward. He also said Tehran “must change its policies,” describing Iran’s role towards a number of Arab states as “extremely negative”.
