PBC Members Raise Concerns Over Proposed Changes

Eight Pakistan Bar Council members have opposed proposed amendments that would make the council’s proceedings confidential, calling instead for greater transparency. In a letter to the PBC secretary, they said the elected body should keep its deliberations open to scrutiny by lawyers and the public. The members argued that the council represents more than 100,000 lawyers and should not function like a private club or secretive government agency.
