Iran’s top diplomat, Abbas Araghchi, has expressed concern to his Omani counterpart in a phone call about the situation in Yemen, according to a statement by the Foreign Ministry. It said Araghchi emphasised “the necessity of joint effort and cooperation between countries in the region to maintain territorial integrity and deepen stability”. The ministry added that Araghchi also talked about developments in the Horn of Africa and “the importance of talks between Islamic countries to counter agents of chaos and discord in the region”, in a likely reference to Israel’s recognition of Somaliland.
