Israel will not leave the Salah Al Din corridor, also known as the Philadelphi corridor, along the Gaza-Egypt border, a senior political official said. The corridor has been a frequent stumbling block in talks between Israel and Hamas over a ceasefire deal. The two sides reached a deal on Wednesday that paves the way for a ceasefire and the exchange of hostages and Palestinian detainees, but Israel said on Thursday morning that Hamas created a “last-minute crisis” to sabotage the deal.
