New York: On Dec 17, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) adopted with unanimity a Pakistan-sponsored resolution, named ‘Universal Realisation of the Right of the Peoples to Self-Determination’. The solution “unequivocally supported the right to self-determination for all people under subjection alien domination and foreign occupation”, including those of IIOJK. A statement issued by the Foreign Office (FO) called the step ‘a ray of hope’ in Kashmiri people’s struggle for freedom from the tyranny of the Modi-led fascist govt.
